Hi Wheatymike, Ive got a gerber cutting tool it has a polymer handle about ten to twelve inches that is similar to an axe handle and it has very strong blade that is a little over a foot long and it holds a decent edge and it cuts right through saplings and some pretty good size limbs. It has a slight curve towards the top of blade. Its not really a machete but used for the same purpose. Hope this helps. HH.

I have a Cold Steel Bolo that is good for a low price. $15 or so. I use it around the property to clear miliflori rose and invasive Bush Honeysuckle (a real problem locally).

A MUCH better machette is the Martindale Golok.

Martindale 13 Inch Crocodile Golok 2 with Hardwood Handle

I've had one of these for almost 10 years...kinda pricey, but they're awesome. They have other models available:

Hard to find a good machete. I have several including the gerber and not one as good as the old corn knives.

Yup! Grab a diamond sharpening stone right next to them. Buy two! "One to use one to lose":laughing7: If you sign up for their email ads, you get a 20% off coupon about once a month. Print em out 4 on a page. Use one coupon for both of course you need to go through the line twice:laughing7:
