Tried to get out to hunt today but ground was too frozen to dig. :( Got bored waiting on the games to start, so I wiped up a PVC T-Handle shovel holder for my belt out of a 3 1/2" piece of 1 1/2" schedule 40 PVC pipe.

Nice work! How did you flatten out the top section?

It's pretty simple to make!
Cut to length you need.

Saw lengthwise to open it up.

Apply heat with a propane torch until you can pry it open enough to get one side in the vise, then heat a strip above where it's held in the vise and bend a little. Slid it down into the vise and tighten until it cools. Then keep repeating until you have the straight side as long as you need.

Cut the handle opening and clean cut with a rat tail file.

Then I rounded all the corners on the grinder to get rid of the sharp edges.

I cut the belt slits with a dremel but you could drill a line of holes and use a rat tail file to clean them up too.

It was actually pretty fun to make and really holds the shovel nice. It's real easy to clip it in and out.

You can heat the two tabs and bend them in a bit if you need a tighter fit but this one literally "clips" into the holder.

When you making mine rob I did pass over that large cent so you could dig it lol

I don't think I have a piece of PVC pipe big enough for the shovel you carry ;)

Sorry, but didn't take any pictures but looks exactly like yours RobRieman. Thank you. Excellent idea. Only took 45 minutes. Only thing I did different is I used a heat gun instead of the propane torch. Really works great for my new Lesche mini digger shovel which I'm sure when ( if ever ) the ground thaws will not only dig easier and deeper holes but also help me get up with my bum knees.
