Something fairly new to this area, it seems the maintenance of the water shed areas is now handled by the park service. First thing they did is post the area. It now reads no artifacts can be recovered or removed from site. Along with the normal rules. You can see the little blue signs popping up all over the place now.
I guess they want to make sure all the artifacts rust completely away so no one can ever recover or display them.

See the post below on the "Wilderness Bill 2009" and you will see why it is so dangerous. Anytime the park service gets its hand in any land in any way this is what takes place.

Contact your congressman on this bill. Also try voicing your displeasure with this incident to all your local officails on all levels.
