lots to explore and possibly find.The area south of Marfa and Alpine,highways 67 and 118down to 170 and across the Rio Grande river into Ojinaga,and the Camino Del Rio road along the river. The 21 mile road from Lajitas will take you past old indian camps. Their is a old Silver mines,and ghost town off hwy 67 at Shafter. Specimans of common opal come from here,their are also numerous fossil beds here. A ancient indian village lies at the base of the Bofecilloos mountains.Marfa is the location of strange lights or siteings in the sky,as reported on unsolved mysteries.What I do not know at this time is the border situation regarding the border patrol and illegal crossings from Mexico,etc. Check before you go,and be sure to pack protection.
