When I was much younger in the 1950's, there was a New Jersey drive in that had a kiddie amusement park as part of it, and kids were could ride for free before the movies started. I believe that was on Rte 6?
The Ocala Drive In on 301-441 has been reopened after being closed for many years and used as a flea market.
As for the Creature From the Black Lagoon, it was filmed at Silver Springs, and the Firehouse Subs on Silver Springs Blvd (Hwy 40) has a full size mural of Tarzan and Cheeta (also filmed at SS) standing by the riverside, with the creature just below the rivers surface.
