Hi, im seeking any information on 9 miners who worked Snowshoe gulch/creek in 1875. Snowshoe Gulch is a tributary of Cedar Creek
(The Cedar Creek Gold Rush) which is just outside of Superior, Montana in Mineral County. I'm also looking for info on a man that goes by the name "Pirate Kelly" who lived in Snowshoe Gulch at the same time and had the reputation of stealing the paydirt from his neighboring miner's sluice boxes. (hints the name Pirate Kelly) any information or pics would be greatly appriciated. ~Kevin~

Last on the list of treasure leads and dating back to 2003 no less. Cedar Creek gold rush that is covered in one of our books, but we did come across an old article of a sluice box that had been getting robbed in the region. The first couple of times it was robbed and they ran dirt for several days and so they believed the ground was spotted. But on the last time it got cleaned out in the night, the planned clean up was the next morning! That was how it was discovered there was a silent partner on the claim. This might have been who you are researching.
