Kentucky buried treasure
In Nicholasville,Ky. a chest of gold coins were stolen from a bank. The coins were supposedly thrown in Kings Mill pond. They were evidently not recovered because a
local fisherman found a few along the banks in 1910.
The indians who lived in the area around Richmond burned and looted from the pioneers
who were homesteading the area for years before the army finally drove them out. They
accumulated much gold, silver, and relics , which they buried near their settlement. They never had an opportunity to retrieve them before leaving the area.
William Pettit, who lived at Alleghany Hall in the 1850's, south of Lexington, buried a large
hoard of gold coins before he passed away. He left no directions to the cache when he died.

Re: Kentucky buried treasure
The coins are not there at the mill pond anylonger...the area is now underwater...a dam was built since then. Also: The guy who built the Hall and left the money before the civil war really existed and probably did hide the gold..but now there is a housing development there and someone may have found his 90,000 in gold while digging a basement( I was there and used some very new technology) ther is no gold within a mile (except in a few houses) to find the exact spot you will need to go to the university and ask the people in the local history area--they might connect you with the professor that told us where the house use to be.
Yea, though I walk through the Valley of Death I will fear no evil for thou art with me.
