    OLD MILITIA SITES

OK, not really a specific lead, but something that I have been thinking about -

I live in New York, where it is next to impossible to find a battlefield, or a military campsite. However, during the 18th and 19th Centuries practically every county had their own local militia. I wonder how difficult it would be to find out where these militia's had assembled, drilled and camped?

I think that if we could get the right leads, it would give some of us that don't live in the Sunny South an opportunity to find OLD military relics!

    What do you guys think?

    Chris

    Re: OLD MILITIA SITES

This CAN be done. I tried my hand at it once and got skunked--but I was going for the oldest site in my area, and there was precious little information on it. I hunted hard, for many--Many hours...and walked away with nothing.

(But I know where the site Isn't. )
