First I would recommend reading this thread from beginning to end and take notes. If you are allergic to poison oak or bees take the necessary precautions because both are everywhere. And wear shoes with good soles, the rocks are covered with really slippery slime. Oh, and it’s fire season, so no campfires.

Darn, I sure wish some one had answered Houston! I just got my cp back from the shop. AND, it's too late for any suggestions.

Anyway, I just wanted to apologise for not responding to my voice mails while I was up there. For some reason, every time I tried to listen to them, I would get the message: "Your call cannot be completed as dialed. Please check the number and try again".

How can you check the number when all you do is hit the voicemail button then send??
Man!! For someone who was an electronics technician in the Navy, I sure don't get along with modern electronics. (lol)

Then on top of that, I took some photos of places I went, then left the camera in Mariposagoldbags car. Yikes!! you'll just have to wait until I'm reunited with my camera.

A few photos from my last trip, (from my other camera).

The first one is the Rock Shop. If you're coming up from Merced on 140, you won't regret taking a few minutes to stop and browse the many treasures in the shop. It's about 5 miles before you get to Mariposa and just before the Agua Fria turn-off.

The next couple are some iron works that I enjoyed looking at.

The fourth is an old trommel for recovering gold.

AND, last, but not least is;........I have absolutely no idea. Stop in and see for yourself. (Or ask the owner, Mike). I've sat and listened to his stories of recent gold finds. Very interesting and friendly. Maybe he will show you some of his gold finds.

Thankfully, I'm not prone to allergies. But, if I were, I'd take along some MMS and/or dried "Plantain". MMS will dry up the poison oak blisters and stop the itching in a matter of minutes. Plantain will nutralize most (if not all) poisons and can be purchased in herbal stores. If I get hit by a bee, I wet a little of the plantain leaf with spit and apply it to the sting. It stops hurting almost instantly.

Actually, plantain can be found growing in the wild if you know what to look for. It might be better fresh if you can find it. I saw it growing in several places while out metal detecting. (Notice I didn't say gold detecting). (lol) All I found this trip was lead, nails, wire and bullet casings. But, there's always the next trip. (lol)

I tryed calling you but it just never lined up. The day I saw you I was doing an air run and only had 30 mins which wouldn't had been enough time. Next time we will do it for sure. Did you enjoy the trip?

Oh, I enjoyed myself tremendously. I only wish I could have afforded to stay longer. I know there's gold out there just crying for me to come get it. (lol) And, I did pick up a couple more places that I know should be productive. And, no one else within miles. The next time, if we can get together, I'll tell you about it.

I was just in Lannys' thread: http://www.treasurenet.com/forums/metal-detecting-gold/69-bedrock-gold-mysteries-55.html#post2988354 and read the latest post by Lanny, and another one by Nuggy. Wow, what an awsome chunk of quartz!!! Something to think about for sure.

Have you ever been metal detecting and had a piece of quartz give you a metal signal, but when you looked at the quartz, there was no sign of any gold?? I have. And, I did what probably 97% of other prospectors have done; Tossed it over my shoulder in disgust. Well, at least the ones I threw away didn't contain 14 kilos of gold. (Though they might have had a 1/4 oz). (lol)

Sorry about not posting more of my experiences for a while, I'm rewriting all that I've already posted into a format that's more suitable for publishing. Man, it's not as easy as it sounded. But, so many of my readers have expressed a desire for one, I guess it has to be done. (lol)

Unfortunetly, I have so many other things that keep my mind (and fingers) occupied, I can only work on the book as I have the time.

I have not been getting out chasing gold much, busy working, and building up a project that I am putting my little spare time and money into, you probably saw a hint of it a while back.

I am running a tumbler a lot, with my diamond wheel grinder I preform and drill favourite pendant shapes. It brings me a good return, without undue strain on the eyesight and patience, that are not in such abundance as before, when I carve the fine detailed stuff. If you are interested PM me for details.

Good questions!! Unfortunately, the answers are not as easily found. And, we'll probably never know as long as archeologists are stuck in their mindset of; "Don't Rock the Boat". But, the implications are that the technology was used to lift and transport 100+ ton rocks.
As far as to how it was lost, you might read; Zecharia Sitchin's "Wars of Gods and Men". Just keep in mind; any history preceding 5,000 years ago is only hypothesis and if it doesn't fit Archeologies or Anthropologies "Darwinic" theory of evolution, forget it being taken seriously.
