Great question! . . I mean if the robbery even happened. . . if that was the last article written about it, perhaps someone did. I looked at a Shoshone town map and it looks to be a fairly small town, even today . . . if someone found out no robbery, whole town would know by the next day . . . same thing with finding it, or all split it . . like all the folks digging under the big W in movie "It's a Mad Mad World".
Sorry if you haven't seen it. An old comedy, dumb, but I liked it.
