In 1877 there were 2 Dougherty Properties in Newtown, Somerset County along the
Pocomoke Dublin, Atlas: Wicomico - Somerset - Worcester Counties 1877, Maryland Historical Map although this Doesn't nail him Down, it's a Place to start your Local research. If T.Benton__ was a Son, or Brother one of these places could have reverted to him.
"T" would have been 41 I Believe in 1877. & Inherited one of them after the Map was Drawn.

My Google Map search, Sent me to Newtown, Somerset County & When I saw Daugherty, I Took
for Granted, Maybe Too Quickly ??
