Hmmm another mystery. I did a quick persons search with the historical society and no one by that name has ever owned property in Stillwater. I like these kind of stories though because this isn’t hearsay or some legend passed down through the years but a tangible start.

that last name would be easy to Misspell.

May take a search of the areas 1899 Death Records for something Similar sounding

Do you use just the Library of Congress site to search old newspapers or any other sites?
I’ve found a couple, but they’re paid subscriptions after so many views.

almost strictly Library of Congress. because it's free.

Occasionally Google as a Back-up Source, if a particular article is damaged.
in those cases googling a sentence can sometimes find the missing pieces.
