There have been some coins found that date from this time. And it is though that it is from this horde .
I will have to look it up but one of the battle sites for this group had been found and a few coins and items from the group.
AS the story goes they had a running battle with the natives in till they were almost over run . The town where this happened has a Road side sign up telling of the battle site and what has been found there. I remember reading about this at one time in the Springfield news paper, this was about 20 years ago so someone will have to go back through the papers to find the details.
I know there is a club that has been hunting this money for many years. They were spoken of in the report in the paper.
