in 1873 there were at least 3 J. Schanck's [ Scha or Sche ] not sure if the Paper or Map has it Correct.

SouthEastern Marlboro Township



NorthernEastern Marlboro Township, both have a D. Schanck close by but no P. that I see.

I agree because they are allot less Known & In many cases Virgin Sites.

Not putting it down But The Confederate Treasure has been Followed since The Civil War..
With & Without Metal Detectors.

My Guess this one was , Most likely Completely forgotten about by the turn of the Century.
They obviously figured If it wasn't Inside his Fortified House, someone in The family appropriated it.
My Guess after The Robbery, If the rubbers didn't wipe him out Financially , He may have Decided to
Bury it where no one would look.
Outside.

& Now we have Detectors

Even So, Even if I'm way off in my Theory. It's a Site to Detect with Permission
