I'd stick to soothing the Indian spirits and leave the landowners to their own devices. Imagine losing $300,000 because of trusting a landowner: a. to be honest; b. to keep their mouths shut

Lesson learned.

I have been researching the actual site and hope to get permission to metal detect the area in the Spring of 2021.

I never made it out to detect the are but went on several scouting excursions to try to pinpoint anything without much luck.
I would certainly never detect anything without the landowner permission. To do so without permission is a great way to get lead poisoning.
Best of luck to those looking for this legend and keep us posted.
