The old Boone Road in Clinton, Potter, McKean, & Warren Counties

Has anyone ever heard of this road and/or conducted any research on it's exact location. I've done some research on this road, and credible historians believe the french built it in the 1750's. It would have been the first "road" in these counties, other than the indian trails. I know the general path the road followed, but does anyone know if parts of the roadbed are still visible? Maybe after 250 years, it isn't. I know one section was used on the Sproul State Forest and is still called "Boon Rd". However, the original roadbed was disturbed.

I'm thinking with the amount of men it took to construct this road, prospecting along this corridor should turn up some relics if nothing else. There should be numerous old campsites, etc.

Would appreciate any input from you hunters and/or local historians.
