I stumbled across this years ago in a library searching for old PA taverns.
Flood of 1862:
Across the river at Penn Haven, George Fegley suffered $12,000 dollars in damages. His home was
swept away along with over $2000.00 in coins of which $975 was recovered and returned to him.
Meaning they must have landed somewhere.
