Probably about 20 years ago I read about a Hobo Hangout near the railroad tracks in Mitchell in a Treasure Magazine. I believe I use to walk by it all the time when I was a kid on the way to school. In the article it stated it was a place where they got together and partied and didn't worry about the law.
I remember seeing an area in the woods that someone made a large wall/dome out of branches, I am guessing that was it.
Google maps looks like the area is under development, maybe, but I still see trees. Let me know and I will send a map link to you if you are interested. I live in North Carolina now, wish I could check it out myself.
