Jeff of pa, Great article. There is or was a lot more than $8,000 or $10,000 buried by Mr. Scott. There could be millions. He made millions of dollars in contracts from the CSA Government for his salt works.

Now you know who Scott's Stadium at University of Virginia is named for... ALSO, there is the Scott's CASTLE on the mountain Rt. 250 WEST of Charlottesville; when the American flag was up & flying... Scott "Clan" were there. I saw the flying flag several times (lived in Charlottesville & worked at Woodrow Wilson Rehab. Center as Counselor). Once, I even drove up to the CASTLE, when Scott family were not there... the place is HUGE! :icon_thumleft:
