in 1928 a decent Detector didn't Exist.
If the location of the "Chain bridge" can be found, and hunted, may be worthwhile :icon_thumright:

Chain Bridge still exists. More specifically, the bridge is from 1936, but the supports are from 1870. I believe it is in the same place as the bridge referenced in the article. If you go, be careful of the rapids(and the US Park Service), which owns the land on the MD side. And bring a pole and some darts. The shad are running right now and people catch a ton of then under that bridge.

Dang, I know where there is an old bridge from the early 20's that is on private now. I have permission to hunt just have to wait till I heal.....Wouldn't that be fun if the same happened here.....
