Yarnel,

I think I know what you are looking for and I'll tell you the area was HEAVILY searched in the 70's. None-the-less, I would still be searching Clear Lake if I were in the area, too.

Have you been to the Rosenburg library in Galveston? Also, if you go to Pelican Island, TAMU Galveston has a good library, and you can browse all day. If you're a student in the area, you can probably check out, too.

I did a lot of research about 10 yrs ago, but wasn't detecting at the time.

And, on a similar topic, if you go to RH John's Maps and Charts- right off the Strand, you may still be able to find a print of Galveston from, 1826, I think. I bought one, again, 10 years ago- it was a limited run of about 500, re-printed in the 70's and they still had about 350 left, so you might find one. Cost about $25 at the time. I still have mine and will put it to good use when I return to Texas- hope you haven't gotten it all!
