Gypsyheart~ Queen of Rust
Crown Point, Lake Champlain
On Crown Point is a ruin of a fort that had been erected by Lord Amherst in 1731.It was said when the French evacuated the area ,that they buried money and bullionin a well, 90 feet down, in the northwestern corner of the bastion. While they had expected to retreive the cache at a later time , this didnt happen. Over the years countless attempts have been made to find the treasure, but so far, no luck. About fifty years ago, a large group of men, undertook the clearing of the site and searched, but still no gold. Maybe there is gold to be found yet, along with alot of great relics!
(This story taken from Volume 9,page 8 of As to Buried Treasure,Cliffs Water and Mountains ,by Charles M Skinner)
I go a great distance, while some are considering whether they will start today or tomorrow
