The story says that around 1845, in the area of White Rock Creek, West Dallas, there was buried the 'The Booty of Three Robbers'.
50 years later, on May 30, 1895, Dallas Daily Times Herald, (p. 6, col. 5.) has an article about Dave Rodgers, a West Dallas carpenter, who attempted to find the $25.000 treasure on White Rock creek.
Any details welcomed.

Hi, I live right by White Rock Creek/White Rock Lake Trail.
Would you like to meet/share and plan a search for this?.

This is the only info I have. I suppose someone else might have heard something worth posting.
Also I thing it is worth trying to find some sort of a copy of the Dallas Daily Times Herald of that date, for the rest of the story.
I'll send you a PM
