Hello to all

I was stationed at Ft. Huachuca in the late sixties and heard a story about a cave full of gold or silver bars that was found by one of the Buffalo Soldiers. Apparently he felt like he would get in trouble so he did not say anything for some period of time. Like most treasure stories, he could not find the cache again. Anybody have any better info? Thanks in advance.

The story of Robert Jones and the treasure cave he discovered at Ft. Huachuca has been written by many authors. Sgt. Jones waited 18 years and went back to relocate the cave with the stacks of gold bars. Jones got permission from the Army to excavate the area where he believe the cave was located, but all efforts to find the cave with the gold failed. Do a search on Google to find more information.

Secretcanyon is correct. There were a few expeditions in the 70s/80s done with permission of the base commander. Most likely was recovered then by Kenworthy. I have seen the scar and the signs leading to it with my own eyes.
