Relevent,

Here ya' go. Good songwriting, a smooth style.
A ballad of a real character. I don't know why,
the Federales, let that one get away, that is,
if they really did...

Did Jesse James really mastermind, and pull
off the robbery of a Mexican Federal gold
pack-train, down in Chihuahua?

Then lead the 18 burros, to the rocky and often
dry, Wichita Mountains, in the far Southwestern
corner, of the Old Indian Territory?

Surprised and caught in a blizzard, cached it,
only later to return, and remove it?

Maybe partly, to the location, having been
carved long ago, on the rock map way later
found, that was named and etched in stone,
The 'Madrugada Estrella Mapa Oro' ?

There has been some tantalizing evidence,
to suggest and indicate, it is very possible,
that he did indeed. No hard evidence, or
real proof though, of that supposed site,
has ever been disclosed, or proven, for
it to have been found, or exist...

The burnt pack saddle buckles, found after
Frank James indicated to the Dr., that he
was looking for something west of Apache,
on the north side of the old worn mountains.

That the locals, by observation of Frank's own
activities and attitudes, didn't believe that he had
ever found. Thinking, he was possibly even noticeably
frustrated about it, when he finally gave up, retired, left
and forever moved away, from the long hunted area...

Reckon Jesse could have moved it, quietly while
Frank was not around, to a secreted location,
and then never had the chance, to tell his
close, only brother, that he trusted about it?

Some well known local events, observed, and
documented in history. That was really witnessed
and recorded there, in the wild old Indian land,
of the ancient Wichita's... :sunny: :fish:

Another 'ol outlaw ballad, that was a
successful literary, and musical work.

Wild spirited men, we may often ponder...

Their tough life's ways, ruthless power,
much hard riding, blood, theft, murder...

While ever seeking precious gold, an' shiny silver treasures.... :sunny: :fish:

Rebel, Visualize you're on vacation, treasure hunting on the beach... Taking a lunch break, watching a video shoot, with lot's of brass and strings... Your bare feet in the sand, and the waves are coming in, rolling up close to your chair, in the fresh ocean breeze... :sunny: :fish: :cross:
Well, I remember that and DO like 'em.

DO TREASURES HAVE REAL SPIRITS?

Here's an idea. What about great riches, and the trouble that often likes to tag along? There is no mistaking that there is sometimes a price to pay for newly found treasure(s) or sudden wealth. We've seen it in often. The person who won the lottery, perhaps, and within a short time span begins to have a series of bad luck.
And, since we are on one of my favorite topics; Mexico, there are a few stories that might interest you.
Now, Don Jose' and I have touched on just a few of the many stories that the village of Alamos, tucked high into the Sierra Madres, holds. There are plenty! Almost too many to count. Like a Mexican candy jar, filled to the rim. Which one shall I pick?
Hmmm... (Hand in jar, swirling around). Okay. Got one. Let's start with the silver strike that changed this place, forever.
By 1790, Alamos was one of the largest silver producers and by the mid-nineteenth century, the capital of Occidente. But, with these riches, trouble came.
For nearly two centuries, the people of Alamos experienced floods, droughts, plagues, and famine. There was political unrest and continual Apache, Yaqui, Tarahumara, and Mayo (Indian) uprisings. Federalists, Colonists, Liberals (not to mention 'banditos') overran the beautiful village at one time or another.
In the 1860's, under Napolean's reign, Emperor Maximillion's troops occupied Alamos and hastily drove away all of the silver barons.
Mexican rebels took it back the following year, and the Revolution drove away most colonial landowners.
By the way early 1900's, the mines closed, in addition to the railroad and mint. At this time, the money was gone and only a few hundred people remained.
But, even with these series of unfortunate events, there was still a magical lure to this village.
In fact, as the legend goes, Pancho Villa's troops arrived there, with one intent, to burn it down. But, one man would not have it. That was Pancho Villa, himself. When he arrived, he suddenly vowed that when he returned from his mission(s), he would (like so many other interesting characters) make Alamos his home. However, he never did return, for he was killed shortly thereafter. But, Alamos was saved from an untimely demise right then, and later (much later) would eventually be restored to it's former grandeur.
Grand it was! Let's go back to the part when the silver barons ruled. Life was good. Really good, for awhile.
To be continued... Tortillas, anyone?

Alamos. Just the word makes me happy. Why? I love it not only for the people (yes, Crosse', the señoritas are exquisite) but for it's stately (and even understated) presence.
Alamos also made some other people very happy; Silver Barons. Among the foothills filled with flowers, mesquites and paloverde trees, something else was found; Plata. It was a time to rejoice! There was silver, and so much of it.
Wait! Un taza de café, anyone? I'll be right back.
