Well SHEESH amigo you don't have to spell it out for me, if you don't want ME there just say the word, I can take the hint!
:tongue3:

Kidding there - I really think such a rendezvous would be great. The trick will be getting Don Jose el Tropical Tramp to clear up a space on that danged calendar of his, so he could make it!

Please do continue amigos;

Hey Oro,

I had a long reply all typed out last nite,
tho I must not have stayed logged in or
something, and lost it to outer space...

I was thinkin', 'twas not very smart to openly
suggest a meeting with some diverse treasure
hunters, most probly never met before, then
mention booze in the same paragraph thought...

That's why I made the comments on people having
tame spirits when juiced up, cause not fun when there
Is some feelins coming to the surface, can cause trouble.
We all know that, and I was just trying to correct my wild
thought, about strangers having a productive, happy meeting...

So that's also why I was jokin' 'bout pickin' Don Jose
up with a jeep. He can cross the rivers if he wants, was
just offerin' the comfort of a heater, so he could be half
dried out by the time he reaches The Treasure Spirits Camp...

Yeah, I can't imagine what would be more important on his calendar,
than taking a bath in the Arkansas, The Canadian, that is if he makes it
over the Red River, I think it actually has some water in it this time, maybe
even gushing, tho would make one look more redman than Yankee, I suppose.

Oh, posting on TN might be more important, I guess...

We'll give it some thought, that would be a fun time, for those who do like to,
and are still able, to get out and enjoy the much wild and untamed backwoods...
That's why they call us a rare, disappearing breed, at least that's what a Choctaw
Indian friend said to me one day, when we were camping out and playing at a nice,
never crowded lake, that now covers where Indians and Outlaws used to roam,
hide out, hunt and fight for their lives, etc. That 'Ol family friend is gone now
too, just like all of the rest of them are, and only memories remain, of good
times we had in the woods, the stories they told, and the laughs, campfire,
and cooking we had shared. The youngn's aren't interested in goin' down
to anywhere like that. Tho' you can get them to play in/on the water,
when it's calm... Still, there's no internet service there, in the old
ancient and wild, untouched by even people of yesterday. So I
go alone, with my partner, spirit friends, trusty Chevy,
maybe Jeep, Dodge or Ford. Livin' free... :sunny: :fish:

I stopped by a friends, yesterday afternoon.
I had seen him standing outside talking to someone,
on my way to town, and thought I'd say hi, on the way back.

When I got to the door, there was a guy and gal introducing
themselves to me, that I had never met, nor seen in the pics
on the cool long antique stereo console, with separate matching
speakers...

I asked about my friend, as they offered me a chair. I said no
thanks, I'm good standing, and they said my friend was walking the
dog, and would be right back. They were obviously busy doing something,
and had introduced themselves as the lady of the house's, Daughter and Son.

Both of them were from out west, and they made a passing mention of her,
that nearly knocked me down. She had passed away, within days, and I
had no idea, and was shocked. A beautiful person, inside and out, I
had visited with them, and played some songs they liked, and was
supposed to go back and visit, a long time ago...

My friend got back, and we talked. I told him that
I was sure sorry, for his loss. He said she had been sick
for about a year. I just saw them about a year ago, and
had no idea, man life sure seems to be short sometimes.

I visited with him for a good long while, and saw her children
looking thru photo albums, her beautiful daughter, showing
me pictures of her, and of her family when they were younger.
We talked about her mother's beautiful Aunt that I had met and
we had visited with, there in her beautiful country home, when
she had lost her lifelong mate, and was alone, a happy soul...

Paying last respects, to beautiful people, then naturally,
wonderin' about my own time and mortality. I am ready,
but man, this life sure seems to be short, when it's passed...

Treasured people, with great, and kind, kindred spirits, that I
will always be glad to have known, and will always miss, very much...

Cross - just wanted to say that if some ground rules were laid down before a rendezvous, like all battle axes (proverbial) are to be left outside the camp gate, no fighting etc like the way they run the Dutch hunters rendezvous, there should not be trouble. There are all kinds of rendezvous held over the country every year, like mountain man rendezvous as an example, and rarely is there any trouble. A big trick might be in finding a place where it can be held. Anyway I have proposed the idea to Don Jose several times over the years (like a Tayopa hunters rendezvous) but it is not so easy to arrange. If you do decide to try to set up a rendezvous, I would recommend aiming six months or a year ahead, so that people can have a chance to arrange for time off etc.

Please do continue amigos, and Cross I can understand about absent friends. Memories of the good times however make for a real treasure that can never be stolen from you.

Hey Coazon,

Further South is pretty good, Eh?

Closer to your Hacienda, so you don't have to travel so far...

When I get over all these treasure haunts, I may have a real fire.

Invite all you hard core campers, to have field trials and big kids games.

Get a good band or two, Y'all will have to bring yer own gals (wives?) and booze,

Metal detectors, coffee, socks, tents and air beds. We'll have a rendezvous like as

not to ever be forgotten, if I could have my way. Everything constructive would be

open, 'cept cussin' in front of the ladies, gettin' loud and obnoxious will get one

thrown in the creek the first time, expelled by guard second time.

But, as long as everyone's civil, we'll cook up some good camp grub, tell stories too

secret for the whole world, listen to and play music, and generally have a great time.

If I can really make that happen sometime, and meet some of you Characters it'd be

strictly by secret invitation only, no party crashers, no fighting, no darkness, no unruly

or mean spirits allowed...

Now a peaceful restless heart or two, would be kindly welcome, just have lots of good

clean fun, laugh a lot, and enjoy relaxed setting. Might even show you my good fishin'

hole... How's that sound Amigo? No Promises, Just An Entertaining Thought... :sunny: :fish:

~:Crosse:~

Oh, and if Don Jose makes the journey to attend,

we'll have a jeep on a raft, to pick him up at the swollen

river bank, and a dozer to pull the jeep across, too swift

for even a whole team of mulies, or a rice rocket brush jumper...

Howdy :cross:,

If you show me your favorite fishing hole where you catch all those blue fish, that would make the trip worthwhile.:icon_thumleft:

On the field trials, and big boy games, I'll race Don Jose, and if he beats me, well I'll just use the excuse that he evolved into a Tarahumara.:laughing7:

Oro,

Don't think it would be that big of a trick,
I think I mentioned, knowing some nice
places. Some improved places, with good
bathrooms and hot showers. Yeah, I know
a good place or two. Prefer RV? Rent a nice
little cabin? Just use camper, trailer, or tent?
Yes, we would plan 1 yr. or more ahead...

Campfire, fishing, boating, hey tubeing, skiing anyone?
Jet skis, we could camp just up from the water. Kids
would all be welcome...

I would welcome you to my world, and we would really
have fun, cause I know how to, and the great places we
have to go to, just makes it so easy... Yes there are some
fish of all kinds. Looks like an unusually wet year... Did I
mention, the best camp cooking?

It would be for a handful of people, maybe two hands, limited
to a small number of trusted friends, treasured, guarded people...
Very small crowd. I've seen a few crowds, and that's what would work.

Along with a few good as gold, resourceful locals, naturally...

Homar

If you come, bring your good poles and reels. I'll take you where the big dogs are,
no problem at all amigo. We'll just have to get you a fishing license, and then we
could have some fun. We could go to somewhere on the Arkansas River. Big fish...

As far as Don Jose coming, would be next to miraculous, think?
