The 2,3 trillion pound worth of Gold(500 ton) is another issue....there were many wars .Especially the Babylonians have invaded Jerusalem taking spoils from both the grand Solomon Temple and royal treasuries. Also taking the population into exile as you can see in the old testament books. However after the exile and the second temple was constructed there were also several golden artifacts in the temple like the legendary golden Menorah(there is another thread on it elsewhere on this forum).On the AD70 Roman destruction of Jerusalem many of those second temple golden objects were taken by the Romans and there whereabouts is still a mystery.But I guess the bulk gold had found its way in the Babylonian kingdom ,then later to Medo-Persia kingdom which defeated the Babylonian kingdom.
