I did not find to much in those locations but this is what I got.

Caldwell County:

GT- Moore, 4 miles WNW of Patterson
GT- Finley, 3 miles WNW of Patterson
GT- Yadkin Valley, 2 ½ miles E of Patterson
GT- Meadow Hill, on county line, 10 miles E of Patterson
GT- Cedar Valley, 6 miles ESE of Lenoir
GT- Hartland, on county line, 2 ½ miles SW of Gamewell
GT- Jumbo, near county line, 8 miles E of Hudson
-There is a lost Cherokee Indian mine located somewhere in Caldwell County
-FT/Site- Fort Defiance was located just north of Lenoir, built around 1700 to protect settlers from Indian raids. The Fort had disappeard by 1789 when a large plantation was built on the site, the ruins of which are still visible.

Catawba County:

GT-Plateau, 7 miles due south of Brookford
GT-Jugtown, 7 ½ miles NE of Toluca
GT-Rudsill, 2 ½ miles SSE of GT Plateau
GT-Mountain Creek, 2 miles west of Terrell

GT= Ghost Town
FT=Forts

Some ghost towns are still occupied with a low number of residents. Also know your local laws and get permission where need be. I hope this helps and puts you on some good finds.
