I re-sized your photos for ease of view. The first photo has some tags of things I spotted and that second photo has some mounds at the skyline that may or may not have more info in them.
You have a lot of walking ahead of you, but first, take some good compass readings from your "bird" and locate it on a good topo with those compass headings extended out.
That notch in the heart's right lobe looks like the outline of an owl's head.
