This might help:

Victorio Peak
http://www.legendsofamerica.com/nm-treasures5.html

Also, W.C. Jameson wrote an account, based upon others' testimonies, about that peak and the Jornado del Muerto. However, take Jameson with a grain of salt since he cites, in Buried Treasures of the American Southwest, unproven accounts of de Soto sending millions back to Spain. At the time of de Soto's death, he was lost and broke.

Do you have any more pictures? Looks like you may have found a site, in that area there are many buried treasures, Indian, Spanish, and Bandit.

Sorry, I don't have any more pics. I am no longer in the area but will be passing through next week. If the weather is good I can take some more with a camera. Do you know what the symbols might mean specifically?

jag,

An arrow shows direction and a plain circle some times means water. The US could be what some soldier put there to mark they were there, possibly. I would follow the direction of the arrow and see where it leads.

I'm not real sure those letters started out as "US". In negative form, the letters look like the right vertical of the"U" was added later in the "Y" shape.

That first photo had more going for it than just an arrow and a circle.

Minetres, you once said a area I was searching had been looked at already. I have found a few things that appear untouched and have a reason to believe there is more than a empty cave and springs there. I cant seem to reach you. Send me a pM and lets compare some notes.
