Okay, I googled"how to extract silver from ore at home".

After several readings of the subject, I am inclined to think the my late partner knew a little more about the zinc and the uses of zinc in processes to separate silver from copper ore.

There were a few spots that state the proper way to add zinc in the process.
All for the best, I guess. I might have never finished my research. On the signs and symbols had I found this earlier.

After reading my last post, I am struggling with a rewrite that would give Jim credit for his translation of the bluff signs, that will not discredit the translations that have been offered here.
Both sets of translations are valid.
If I cannot place it into text, I will add it to the prologue.

It only took one sentence to correct Jim's standing.

That, moved the status of many pages below it.

Every time I tried to save it, the laptop shut down.

I dismantled the laptop and cleaned everything I could get to.
The last time worked.
Saved and hopefully correct.

I hope to re-read it and not find any errors, next.

I'm wondering if anyone has seen this "Native American ", drawing on a petrygliff.

It is on the border of an old map, made by a Native American.

The map is a history of tribal movement going back to the time of early Spanish activity on what would become the U.S.

There is a lot of early Spanish information printed without a kind word for the Spaniards of the time.

This is just one of seventy five symbols.

I've had the map for years and just realized a few months ago what this one is.

The goalpost shaped
Part is a burn, next to the shore of a creek. Minnows swimming close to shore will follow the edge of the burn.

Fish see this like a buffet, now the Fish is easy to hand capture or stab.

Seems to me that nomadic tribes would leave this on a petrygliff near a fishing spot.

Just IMHO.

It's called a "weir" ... usually (but not always) they are V-shaped ... here is a "Google Earth" image of one I know about in Echota, GA. There are two visible in this area, but I show this one because it's marked by the bent tree in the second image. Third image is a drawing of how they work.

There are two more versions on the map, that are triangle shaped. None as large as yours.

Glad you knew the name.

No one seems to have seen any 'glyphs.
I guess the tree trumps them.

I decided to check Google
( now that I knew what they are called. )
There are hundreds of them!

All I found were large ones.
The one that I posted is small, I'm pretty sure.

Next trip to the creek, I'm going to try to build the small one just to see if it works.

Also, I think that there is one of the large ones in a local creek that runs thru a local state park.

I have seen the large "V" shape and just figured it was from flooding and time.
Time is the key to it. I think that it was there long before any recent flooding and has lasted thru them.

It will take time and someone to go with me. Best from canoe trip.

You are quite welcome ... just remember they can be made of almost anything that will channel the fish. Most were wood so they no longer exist.

Just think of the chief who was responsible for feeding his people. Sure would help speed up the process of gathering fish to eat.

I think that these are both, weirs.

The one that has the circles
IMHO is a small one.

The other, may or may not be one at all. If it is a weir, I think that it would be large.
