    Canadian River Rocks.

I have been driving by this rocks for years and I finally decided to stop.

These are pictures of two rocks, front and back.

I think they are on the Santa Fe Trail, not far from the Canadian River By Logan NM.

Someone took a spray can to one of them.

Because they are close to the rode, I am thinking Trail markers?

The Santa Fe Trail came down north of Clayton and crossed the Canadian River west over near Springer. Your rock could have been a marker for another trail though - there were many.

Hi Springfield, When I went through Springer I seen a sign about the Santa Fe Trail.

It could be the Goodnight Loving Trail. But I`m still not sure.

The rocks appear to have been marked.

Sure looks like a trail marker to me, forward and reverse, probably took a bit of doing to get to the area.

Look like trail markers. The second one though sure seems to be weathered oddly and was is it located on a slight mound? Perhaps for visibility. I was thinking maybe the first one is a trail map too. Wonder if that s a river canyon or gully on other side of the road.

Looks more like scrape marks from the bulldozer blade.

That would explain a lot gord. I do not normally find shallow grooves like that, yet it did not seem natural. I'm no expert but it seemed to me the earth was disturbed around those rocks. It just seemed different from the surrounding surface in the pics pala posted.

Also explains some of the odd marks on the other rock.

Hi desertmoons, that is a creek that that emties into the Canadian river. The rocks are on higher ground.
