Could this be a turtle sign?

The picture below is of an area near where I have MD'd (used to have a sand beach nearby).

Through research I learned there used to be a town in the area. So, figured I would go to terraserver and try to locate evidence of exactly where the town was (old map from 1936 and current roads do not match exactly), when I found this in the landscape.

The colored area is raised.

Just curious. Didn't think so, however a friend of mine (now deceased) has dug gold from an indian mound (over 60 years ago) when he was breaking ground here for his garden. There was a mound in the field and when he broke it over with his mule and plow, he found a small leather pouch with several pieces of gold in it.

The indians who inhabited this part of Arkansas did not move the dead, they simply covered them with soil where they died, thus the large number of mounds all over this area.

BTW, the area in the picture above is about 1/3 mile from end to end. This isn't very far from Poverty Point, Louisiana's indian mounds. (about 60 - 70 miles).
