I would have to agree.

It takes too long to actually see the faces for the first time,
suggesting to me it's our minds eye interpreting the darkness/

interesting Satanic Baphomet Symbol though.
I wonder if it was a teen being artistic,
or something even more interesting

Yes Jeff i see the inside carving but can't tell what it is.

The figures in the center of the carving are 2 faces, side by side. The one on the right is a human man's face and the left one has the appearance of a humanized lion's face.

The faces in the bottom left shadow look like dogs or apes to me...Took the liberty to enlarged and enhance a few parts of the pic, pretty cool!

bildon! try detecting all around the base of this tree,,, then check to see if there are any stumps, boulders that are layed out like at the ends of the triangles of the carving,, then detect where the lines cross,, just a guess, good luck bro
