That's not a treasure map. If it is, it was desecrated by someone. That chaotic mess is ridiculous :D

Timberwolf,

Is your alledged map from a certain area or time and if so would you be willing to say when and where?

BC

Hi Bob,

I have not seen the map myself, only the tracing. My friend says that he still knows the guy that has the original map. As far as what area the map is showing, The man that has the map lives in Oklahoma. So my guess is that it is somewhere in southern central OK.

I don't get to visit with my friend very often. The next time I do, I'll try and get some more details.

Tricia,

We have not gone out and found any treasure, relating to this map. We do think that the map may be real. This is why with his permission, I posted it for others to see. I myself am not schooled in maps, signs or markers, but many on TNet are.

So you put what you think might be a real treasure map on the internet for all to see.

I take back what I said previously, forget the map....treasure is already gone. :D

Bob,

I talked with my friend this evening.
He said the map is a tracing of a rock.
The rock is in southern Oklahoma, south of Duncan.
The carvings on the rock have been there since before statehood.
He still has access to the property and would be willing to take on a partner, if anyone is interested.
He also thinks that cowboys, over the years, have added things to the rock, which makes it look like such a mess.
If I understood him correctly, the property is along the old Chisholm trail.

If anyone is interested, PM me and I will Get you in touch with him.

That map looks very familar, I think it is included in
Gloria Farleys book (In plain Sight).
As far as going public with the map, these old ranchers
around here always know who is around their property,
& have high -powered rifles to enforce the trespassing
laws, so anyone going in, would need permission, & an
escort.

Fossis,

I'll have to have a look at that book.

My friend does have permission to the property, where the rock is.
If the clues on it lead elsewhere, then there could be a problem getting permission to the other property.

It might be worthwhile though :)

The portion that appears to be a blade entering from the upper left is the first clue that this map is an overlay system and that it must be copied and cut into an odd number of several pieces, with the smaller pieces laid on top of the largest. The blade cuts across from the side (first clue) Pick a pattern of symbols in a row to reveal the dotted line. Works like a dot to dot puzzle through a process of elimination. Twisted

Try looking under "The Spanish in Utah" in this same column. There is reference to a website called "The Treasures of Utah" ; or Under the TreasureNet topic "Caches" under "Skip to the LUE my darl'in. There you will find samples of map code cutting. Good Luck Guys.....Twisted

Stilldign,

Thank you for the info. I will pass it on to the fellow that has this tracing. I believe the rock is still there, and he knows the property owner.
Thanks again,
