Hi all. Found this while prospecting. Rumored to be a Spanish Vault in these mountains... any ideas?
Looks like you also have a heart just below and to the right of the turtle head. Also a devil face is carved just to the left. These are indications of Spanish vaults. They all seem to be looking/pointing downhill if I am seeing the pic correctly. Probably looking right at the next marker or even the dig site itself. If you don't find an indication by following a straight line where they are pointing, you could try camping a ways off, like 1/2 mile to a mile and watching the hillside/cliffside/mountainside for a day or two. Look for shadows and lit up boulders. The Spaniards worked with light and shadow intentionally. Look for crosses, the # 3, triangles, faces, or angel or devil figures. Often it is at first light, noon or last light, but just kind of chill out and watch all day long. Have a couple cold ones and throw something yummy on the grill...

If you get an indicator, draw a strait horizontal or vertical line from it and where it crosses the line the turtle is looking is your spot. unless it is a face looking someplace. Draw a line where it is looking or pointing... Either next clue or dig!

In any case, you are on the trail and best of luck to you!
