Re: Basic Spanish signs and symbols you have found
Thom!!
I got a quwstion on pic #183. There is a duckhead looking straight out to the camera, with the biggest eye looking to our left. Is this the same direction the bottom trail pointer also points to? And I have found that the shorter the beak, and the smaller the duck, the closer you are to " being there ". An open beak also, I think means that there is an opening, mine, tunnel, room, etc. Anyway, Peace to All, TD

Re: Basic Spanish signs and symbols you have found
Ed,
The sun symbol with all of the circles and the two small circles inside the smallest circle is a watchful eyes sign as well as an owl sign.
This is a rare one, all in all it says beware a guarded treasure is ahead.
The four holes are in another post.
I think they are anchor points for a hoist or traverse system for moving great weights.
The holes would keep a hoist tower in place and reduce motion at the bottom while the machine was working.
Re: Basic Spanish signs and symbols you have found
Randy,
It certainly looks like a lion standing guard.
Once again if his eyes are open the direction he is looking is the direction to go.
If his eyes are closed you are there. (at the location he is guarding)
also marks a royal trail.
LOL
Thanks for the input Sherm.
I'll remember that if I go to Chicago.
Re: Basic Spanish signs and symbols you have found
Ed,
As far as the cross on the wall with the 8 near it...
Measure from the bottom of the cross to the ground.
Multply the distance by 8 and see what happens.
If the 8 were not there I would say the standard distance is times 10
The 8 may change that.
The direction is marked I'm sure.

Re: Basic Spanish signs and symbols you have found
Here is a pig monument that is a little clearer.
I took the photo yesterday to show what I am talking about.
the eyes are open. If I follow his gaze I should find another Pig with his eyes closed.
I will be at the treasure site.

Re: Basic Spanish signs and symbols you have found
It was pretty hard getting in there to take this pic and the ones with the thing a ma giggies old dog. The thing is that in the pic of the death trap, the one rock on the top is the death trap I am speaking of. It is about 15 to 20 feet tall and is being held up by the small pile of rocks in the pic of the trap. The rock with the thing a ma giggies is directly below this large rock and as one stands underneath it one feels as if the big rock will fall down on them and squash them like a bug. Maybe the next time I take a trip down there, possible in Dec., I will try to take some better pics, though these were taken with the flash on at close range.
Re: Basic Spanish signs and symbols you have found
Thanks Ed.
The heart is a classic symbol that represents gold ahead. it is a directional mapointer and will point to the next marker as well as the treasure. Heart signs will get significantly smaller as you get closer to where the treasure is stashed. they will warn of potential dangers such as a death trap. They dont point it out but they do let you know it is there.
