Where do you get this stuff??

The Crown Jewels are displayed at the Tower of London in England.


I saw them in the '80's.

Agreed. Being a war history buff I actually recalled something about this. A quick look in Wiki gave the following quote...

"They were temporarily taken out of the Tower in the Second World War. It was reported that they were secretly kept in the basement vaults of the Sun Life Insurance Company in Montreal, Canada, during World War II, along with the gold bullion of the Bank of England. However it has also been said that they were kept in the Round Tower of Windsor Castle, or the United States Bullion Depository. The Windsor Castle suggestion is the most probable since by law the Crown is not allowed under any circumstances to leave the country, and the risk of transporting the Crown Jewels abroad would have outweighed any advantage."

It amazes me that when a few people (SWR, Jim, and myself) question anything within this section, we are bombarded with insults and accusations, especially from new members who have only scratched the surface of TNet.
