CARSON CITY, Nev. - Even though he lived in the same quiet neighborhood for decades, no one seemed to know Walter Samaszko Jr. He was so unknown that weeks passed before authorities discovered he had died in his modest Carson City home.
When cleanup crews arrived, they made another startling discovery: The 69-year-old man who had lived so simply had a vast collection of thousands of gold coins worth millions of dollars stashed in old ammunition boxes in his garage.
About half of the collection's value will be auctioned off Tuesday in a Carson City courtroom to satisfy some $800,000 in government estate taxes and fees.

they are saying 3 mil now but after the government gets there's and the lawyers take their cut (why the lawyer are there is a good ???) yeah she will still get a nice windfall but any bets on it if will be less than a mil, and then they will want income tax on it too.....

Auction of Nevada recluse's gold coins nets $3.5 MILLION with second auction likely

Nearly half of Walter Samaszko Jr's gold was auctioned off on Tuesday
$800,000 of proceeds will go going to fees and estate taxes and rest to Walter Samaszko Jr's heir
Auction was only for the bullion coins which are not necessarily rare, just expensive because they are made of gold
A second auction is likely for the larger portion of the collection comprised of the rare coins
