Master gardeners recently unearthed an amazing discovery near Chambersburg.

More than a dozen centuries-old artifacts were dug up from the ground in front of the historic Patrick Gass home on Franklin Farm Lane in Guilford Township.
“(Gass) was on the Lewis and Clark expedition, so he’s one of our claims to fame in Franklin County,” Commissioner David Keller said.
Ten coins, dating back as far as 1672, were discovered along with three Native American arrowhead tools in November.
