I read a story about a guy who found an unknown shipwreck, and did manage to salvage a sizable amount of treasure from it. He went through the right channels and was getting nowhere. A squad of police turned up to confiscate the treasure, but it was gone. When asked where it was, the man simply told them that since they had decreed that it was illegal to take it in the first place, he took it back where he found it. When asked where that was, he told them, "I had to go and search for it, if you want it, go find it."

Such a sad story. This is what happens to honest men in a dishonest world.
