Captain's "Lucky Coin" Found in Civil War Submarine

I'm not sure if this is considered "treasure", but it's certainly interesting nonetheless.

Researchers recovering artifacts from the H.L. Hunley, a submarine that sank during the Civil War, have found one of the most sought after artifacts; the "lucky coin" of the subs captain, Lt. George Dixon. See article below. Enjoy!

That is a treasured story to me. My great grand father was shot in the Civil War and saved by his shoulder sling buckle and leather strap.
I am here today because of that lucky buckle and my brother has it on display.

Yeah, ol' Rebel boat sank the ship, I believe,
with very few or no casualties, but the H.L. Hunley
REALLY sank, never to surface again - but remained intact for all to see history - once again!

very old story, I watched the excavation on TV when they aired it for the first time. Still remember the archaeologist when she pulled it out of the mud and it had the dent from the bullet and the inscription just as the legends had said it would. Clive Cussler's salvage company really turned fiction into fact by mounting these expeditions to recover the lost maritime treasures of the American Civil War. I believe they also recovered the turret of the USS Monitor, America's first armored ironclad war ship.
