I hope that's what it is, but I'm not convinced yet. Looks like quartz to me.

Yeah it looks like common quartz which i find a lot but I have never found a diamond that wasn't connected to a piece of jewelry though. 60 million years ago? A dinosaur stepped on it?

Isn't that like one of the first things you would do? I know I would if that is what I thought I had. Yes, it said she used a "tester" but, as with many tools I am sure there are really expensive good ones and cheap not so good ones also. I would not think she would have purchased a very good one as she is not hunting for diamonds but prospecting for gold. I doubt we will see a follow-up story to find out if it was, or was not a real diamond.
