A generous gift. The Salvation Army is a humanitarian organization that does good things. I suppose they could use the 2 thousand.

Believe it or not, this is a fairly common thing. It seems like every year or two a valuable collectible coin turns up in a Salvation Army kettle. What worries me is how many have been dumped in over the years that haven't been recognized.

I think I've heard stories of gold eagle's ending up in Salvation Army buckets before.
