This is older news, but I just saw a documentary on the SS Central America and this was the key find among about $100 million + worth of gold bars and coins (7,500 or more gold coins). About 30,000 POUNDS of gold. The bottom of the ocean was covered in a sea of gold! This bar, the largest of its kind, went for $8 million (blowing away the gold weight market value by hundreds and hundreds of percent, due to the historical value of the item). Hurricane hit the ship, headed to New York, on Sept. 11 of all dates (1857)...the ship actually sank on the 12th...and what date was it discovered again...Sept. 11, 1987...exactly 130 years later.

It's actually around 80 cubic inches...4 by 4 by 5 inches, a couple of hamburger buns. :)
