Cache of old dog tags found inside an ALLIGATOR

The owner of a butcher and taxidermy shop in Ravenel, South Carolina, said his team recently discovered five dog tags and several other items inside the belly of a 12-foot alligator.

“The gator, which weighed in at 445 pounds, was killed by Ned McNeely, who owns the Adams Run property where he found it,” WCSC reported Friday......

.....In a Facebook post on Thursday, the business shared photos of the animal and detailed the other items the employee’s found.

“5 dog tags, 1 bullet jacket, 1 spark plug, loads of turtle shells, and several bobcat claws were inside. Two of the tags were legible and one phone number still worked. The owner said he had that lease 24 years ago and those were from his deer dogs. Pretty interesting,” the post read.....

....Cordray picked up the phone and dialed the number on one of the dog tags.

“I talked to him and he was an older gentleman and he said that he had a lease down on the other side of the river from where the gator was killed, 24 years ago,” he commented, adding that because there were so many alligators there, dogs do go missing.

“And that’s what they always figured is the dogs got eaten by the gators,” he noted.

That was a predator-type gater, that was actively and closely watching neighborhood dogs..., and Lord only knows, if it was watching kids play nearby, too...!

Years ago on Eglin Air Force Base they killed a gator that was killing hunting dogs. He wait by a little part where a deer trail was and water. Dogs would stop to get a drink and become chow. He got found out about by a dog he had killed with a tracking collar on it. Owner tracked the collar to this bank and when he stood there knowing the collar was in the water, the gator jumped out of water towards him. I think it had about 12 - 14 tags in it's belly including the dog and tracking collar the owner was looking for

when i lived in fl. a buddy lived by the hillsborough river, he had to
have a gator removed several times, he checked the fence couldnt
figure out how the gator was getting in.the wild life guy joked that
it climbed the fence. good thing his kids and dog wasnt in the yard
just a few years ago i saw a vid of a gator climb a fence. show it to
him he was like wow who would of thought gators climb

Freshwater in Florida means alligator I don't swim in freshwater they say when you swim in freshwater the gater only sees your head and that looks like a meal then they move on in for the snack

Hate them things,there,s a reason people killed them off years ago, and in it,s infinite wisdom the Ar Game and Fish reintroduced them.Like to fish?Don,t leave your stringer hanging over the side like you always did or the gator gets a free meal.
