Do you know the real reason a pure red cow is so valuable?????

My blonde wife says, of course he knows, it's because the red cow matches the red barn. Duh ! :D  ;D

Historically, a red heifer was highly prized for Temple ceremonies :icon_study:

Before the destruction of the 2nd Temple...not modern times.

Don't even go in that direction...it will never happen...

That's right! One red cow and the Gold dome goes bye bye!! Apparently it was a war sacrifice!

It's because she's a dairy cow, they are built differently than beef cattle, lean with a big, bony frame. This is one beautiful and healthy cow!

She's rare because she's a Holstein, which are usually black and white spotted. I read that the red and white gene is "double recessive". She's a breeder, make lots of expensive babies. No Israel connection here I think, not in Connecticut.

Am I reading something wrong here? 4 year old cow that already had 5 daughters??? Breeding must of started mighty young. Something is not right. We breed beef, and none of mine are never bred that young, normally to where a cow would be having her 1st calf by the time she reaches the age 2.

 RR

She sure looks mighty handsome, and great shape for being 4 years old and dropping 5 calves.
My cattle could never do that and look so good.
Come to think of it, they just plain cannot do that.

if mine haven't dropped a calf by 2 years old they are gone Bulls are not ready to bred before 2 though and will give them possible damage if you let them before then

she looks very healthy and in this day of artificial means of impregnation animals

she could of had at least 6 by 4 years old if she dropped 3 sets of twins

Yes. I thought of that after posting a reply. She could have had twins, and that may also increase her value.
I had my white face herefords bred with a red Holstein bull and the calves looked just like their mothers. They were both red and white and looked like herefords.
