Hmm..no cave mode. I thought they kept that mode after White's stopped having them make their unit for them. How many years back do you have to go to find one that has cave mode on it?

The TR/TRACE mode is the Cave mode, The TR/Trace setting has two features one is Cave mode and the other with a special attachment and different front loop is the Trace mode.

Without this special Tracer attachement, The TR/TRACE mode will only operate as a Cave mode.

Kevtec, thanks for the fast reply but it is out of my price range. The hays 2Box units floating around are selling for $200 or under and they will pick up a chain link fence at 12'. I know I have one. I am looking for a backup. The only problem with my Hays is it won't pickup on salt water beaches. The old TR's never did. That's a nice looking Dane in your Avatar. Thank you for your quick response, it is funny... half year ago I want to buy a TF900 so when my brother inlaw comeback to Florida I said please buy me a TF900 to Kellyco and I pay her in the Phil. but instead he questioning Kellyco about the reputation so he did not buy now I'm planing again to buy because I want the arc-geo logger by Tim Williams and now the maker is stop producing of this machine is so sad.
