This is Ed Huffman the owner of Treasure Mountain Detectors and Forum Sponsor, I highly recommend Gary's CTX3030 book for anyone who has a CTX3030 or thinking of getting one there is a lot of valuable information in there that will definitely help the beginner to the experienced user. If you do not have a CTX 3030, check out some of Gary's other books, one of my favorites is Metal Detecting for Spanish Treasure which includes Gary's find of a lifetime

Thank you Ed, I am happy you liked the books.
Cheers Gary
It is hard to describe how much I enjoyed Gary's book, "CTX3030 BEACH AND WATER HUNTER'S GUIDE." As a newcomer to the Minelab line, I found the learning curve to be very steep. Gary took much of the mystery out of effectively using the CTX3030 at the beach or in the surf. He writes in a very understandable manner, with many illustrations, photos, and examples. The 76-page instruction book that came with my 3030 is a bit overwhelming for a new user, but Gary's book breaks things down into clear, easy to understand chunks of information. I really enjoyed reading about Gary's recommended "custom settings" for sand and surf and have already used some. Lastly, I was glad to see that this book wasn't just a rehash of one of Gary's earlier books, with the CTX3030 name pasted over an earlier minelab model--it was clear that Gary had really field tested the CTX3030 over a long period of time in many different settings. This is the best 20 bucks I have ever spent on a book, and encourage owners of the CTX3030 to get their hands on a copy.
