Hi ptm, I've been leaning PI for the water. My ATP works great once you get past the surf in Lake Michigan, but I'll be going to a location in very salty water. I need a machine that won't false in the wave crash. Scrim isn't important, I plan to dig everything.

I honestly have not researched Fisher much, would you send me more info via PM?

Thanks Terry, You'd go with the 8" and not the 10"?

For $30 more I can get the Sea Hunter whose housing looks like a tank you could drive over. It's going in the checked luggage so that's a selling point. When I thank you about the Sand Shark will it be because it's just a better all-round performer in the surf?

I'm really down between those two, but leaning Garrett since I'm happy with my atp and have experienced their customer service.

$50-$100 either way isn't going to break me. But wanted to post here too in case anyone has a deal. Also a good condition used Excalibur II for $700 would prob make me pop too.

It's funny, the more I research the less I know what I want! I just need to pick one and go jump in the water lol.

I have a 10" Excal 2 that is basically new I'll let go for $850. Has knob guard and Anderson knobs installed. It was a backup machine that has been used very little with 2 weeks warranty left.
